New Construction + Remodel Design Review
New Construction + Remodeling
Professional interior design review of architectural plans and key spatial decisions, ideally before they are finalized, with an emphasis on flow, function, everyday routines and long-term livability.
See Your Plans Through a Different Lens
Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience in homebuilding, Tara brings a practical understanding of how decisions made on paper can influence the way a home ultimately functions and feels to live in.
A floor plan can look good on paper and still create frustrations once the home is built. A New Construction + Remodel Design Review may be a good fit if you have:
- A builder or architect working on plans
- Many decisions happening quickly
- Difficulty imagining the finished home
- Concerns that something may be overlooked
- Plans that technically work, but may not work optimally for the way you live

What We Look For
During the review, we evaluate how the plans support the way you want to live, including:
- Circulation + flow
- Furniture placement
- Door swings + clearances
- Storage
- Kitchen + bath functionality
- Natural light + sight lines
- Lighting + electrical considerations
- Spatial relationships
- Long-term livability
- Alignment with how you actually live
When to bring WellHaven Design in
The best time for WellHaven Design to contribute is before the floor plans are finalized.
A review can still be valuable later in design development or even once construction has begun, depending on which decisions remain open. If key plan decisions have already been finalized, we can help determine whether another WellHaven Design service would be a better fit for the decisions ahead.
Timing + Investment
Timing
Timing varies based on the size and complexity of your home, the stage of your project, and the depth of review needed. Once we understand your project and review the current plans, WellHaven Design will confirm the anticipated turnaround.
Investment
Investment is based on the agreed scope and complexity of the review. Following the Discovery Call, you’ll receive the recommended scope, investment amount, and anticipated turnaround.
Before We Begin
To provide a useful and focused review, WellHaven Design will need:
- Your current architectural or builder plans
- A clear understanding of the project’s current stage and anticipated timeline
- Any known project constraints or decisions that are already fixed
- Insight into who will live in the home, your routines, priorities, aspirations, and vision for the home
- Clarity around the primary decision-makers for the project
If plans or project information change materially after the review begins, additional review may require an updated agreement on scope.
